1. Overview

At Wilda, we understand that plans can change. This Refund Policy explains how cancellations and refunds are handled for safari bookings made through our platform.

When you book a safari through Wilda, you pay a service fee online to confirm your reservation. This policy primarily covers refunds for this service fee. The safari fee (paid to the Owner on the day) is handled according to this policy.

2. Cancellation by Renter

If you need to cancel your booking, the refund amount depends on when you cancel relative to your scheduled safari time:

How to Cancel

To cancel your booking:

  1. Log in to your Wilda account
  2. Go to "My Bookings" section
  3. Find the booking you wish to cancel
  4. Click "Cancel Booking" and confirm
  5. You'll receive a confirmation email with refund details

3. Cancellation by Owner

If a Jeep Owner cancels your confirmed booking:

You will receive a 100% refund of the service fee, regardless of when the cancellation occurs.

Additionally, we will:

  • Notify you immediately via email and app notification
  • Help you find an alternative jeep for the same date (subject to availability)
  • Offer a discount code for your next booking as compensation for the inconvenience

4. Weather-Related Cancellations

Safari trips may be affected by weather conditions. In case of severe weather:

4.1 Park Closure

If the national park is officially closed due to weather (flooding, cyclone, etc.):

  • Full refund of the service fee, OR
  • Free rescheduling to another date within 30 days

4.2 Heavy Rain

If heavy rain affects visibility but the park remains open:

  • The Owner may offer to proceed with the safari (your choice to accept)
  • If you choose to cancel, standard cancellation rules apply
  • If the Owner recommends cancellation, you receive a full refund

Tip: Morning safaris (6 AM) often have better weather conditions. Check the weather forecast before your trip and communicate with your Owner.

5. Force Majeure Events

In case of extraordinary circumstances beyond anyone's control (natural disasters, civil unrest, pandemics, government restrictions, etc.):

  • Full refunds will be issued for all affected bookings
  • Processing may take longer than usual due to high volume
  • We will communicate updates via email and on our website

6. Refund Processing

6.1 Processing Time

Once a refund is approved:

  • Credit/Debit Cards: 5-10 business days to appear in your account
  • Bank Transfers: 3-5 business days
  • Other Methods: Varies by payment provider

6.2 Refund Method

Refunds are processed to the original payment method used for the booking. We cannot refund to a different account or payment method.

6.3 Currency and Exchange Rates

Refunds are processed in the original payment currency. Due to exchange rate fluctuations, the refunded amount in your local currency may differ slightly from the original charge. Wilda is not responsible for exchange rate differences.

7. Disputes and Issues

If you believe you are entitled to a refund not covered by the above policies, or if you experienced issues with your safari:

  1. Contact our support team within 48 hours of the incident
  2. Provide details of the issue and any supporting evidence (photos, communications)
  3. Our team will investigate and respond within 3 business days
  4. We may offer partial refunds, credits, or other remedies at our discretion

Eligible Issues for Partial Refund Consideration:

  • Vehicle breakdown that significantly shortened the safari
  • Owner no-show or significant delay (30+ minutes)
  • Vehicle significantly different from listing description
  • Safety concerns that caused early termination

Note: Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed. Failure to see specific animals is not grounds for a refund, as this is the nature of wildlife safari experiences.

8. Booking Modifications

If you need to modify your booking (change date, time, or number of guests) instead of cancelling:

  • Modifications requested 48+ hours before: Usually free (subject to availability)
  • Modifications requested 24-48 hours before: May incur a small fee
  • Modifications requested less than 24 hours before: Treated as cancellation + new booking

To request a modification, contact the Owner through the Wilda messaging system or contact our support team.
